The Power of Mudras for Hormonal Balance & Fertility

If you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body - like you’re doing all the right things but still feeling stuck - let me introduce you to one of the simplest, yet most powerful tools I use in my own practice: Mudras.

Mudras are often described as 'yoga for your hands', but they are so much more than that!
Rooted in ancient wisdom, mudras are hand gestures or positions that help direct energy in the body, bring balance to the nervous system, and cultivate awareness.

One of my absolute favourites - especially for hormone health is Hakini Mudra.

What Is Hakini Mudra?

Hakini Mudra is created by gently bringing the tips of all ten fingers to touch, almost like you're holding a ball of energy in between your hands and placing it in front of your heart or belly. It’s often used to enhance focus, intuition and awareness of breath.

Beyond that, Hakini Mudra supports the balancing of the right and left hemispheres of the brain, calming the nervous system and creating a sense of inner alignment - exactly what your body needs to feel safe enough to open to conception.

It can help you with...

  • Nervous System Regulation:
    When your body feels calm and safe, your hormones can regulate more easily. Mudras like Hakini bring you back into your body, slowing your breath, and activating your parasympathetic (rest and digest) state.

  • Energy Direction:
    Mudras help direct prana (your life force energy) toward specific systems in the body. Hakini Mudra is known for enhancing mental clarity, breath awareness, and connection to your womb space.

  • Accessibility & Simplicity:
    You don’t need any special equipment or advanced yoga practice to use a mudra. You can practice Hakini Mudra anywhere - on your couch, in bed, or during your meditation practice.
